For the Gulf Avenue campus and the Teleport, we come in off the highway directly. These are large sites with multiple entrances, so the building number or the entrance you came out of matters far more than the street name — at that hour there is nobody to ask for directions.

Five in the morning, a lot full of cars, and nobody around

The defining call out here happens at shift change. You come out of a warehouse or a fulfillment building off Gulf Avenue at 5 a.m., into a lot with hundreds of vehicles in it and almost nobody walking through, and your car does nothing.

It is a specific kind of stuck. The lot is full but empty of people, the roads around Bloomfield and Chelsea are industrial with very little passing traffic at that hour, and the nearest anything is a drive away. Waiting for a passing motorist with cables is not a plan out here.

The lot has a gate that closes after the shift. Is that a problem?

Only if we do not know about it. Say so on the call and we will work around the timing or arrange how to get in. Being told at the gate is what causes delays. Stay with the vehicle too, because in a lot of several hundred cars parked by people on one schedule, an unattended one is hard to pick out.
